Bringing your spouse and children on the DTV
Yes: the spouse and the children under 20 of a DTV holder can get their own DTV in the “spouse and children” category, with the same 5-year validity and 180-day stays. They need their own passport and photo, proof of the relationship (marriage or birth certificate), a copy of the main applicant’s passport and DTV, and financial evidence of 500,000 THB. No course, no job and no separate purpose document is required for them.

Who counts as a dependant
- Your spouse — a legally married husband or wife, shown by a marriage certificate.
- Your children under 20 — by birth certificate; adopted children with the adoption certificate (the Phnom Penh embassy lists it).
- Not covered: unmarried partners and parents — they apply in their own category, workcation or soft power.
Dependants get the same visa: 5 years, multiple entries, 180 days per entry, and the same one-time extension at an immigration office.

In what order, and when
- The main applicant applies first — the dependants need a copy of the approved DTV.
- Dependants apply at the same embassy, in the “spouse and children” category, with the documents above.
- Processing takes the same 5 days to 6 weeks; plan the family’s travel after the last approval.
Through FITFAC
Our packages cover the main applicant’s Muay Thai letter and, with the review package, the whole file. For dependants we check the documents and the embassy’s wording; the children do not need a course.
Spouse and children — frequently asked questions
Does each dependant need 500,000 THB?
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs checklist lists a 3-month statement of at least 500,000 THB for this category as well. Whether the main applicant’s account can be used is decided by the embassy — ask before you file; we check this for you.
Can my partner apply if we are not married?
Not in this category: it requires a marriage certificate. An unmarried partner applies on their own grounds — remote work, or a Muay Thai course of their own.
Can my family apply later, after I have my DTV?
Yes. The category only needs a copy of your approved DTV, so they can apply months later, at the same embassy.
Do my children need to take Muay Thai classes?
No. Dependants need no purpose document of their own.
