The total cost of applying for a Destination Thailand Visa (DTV Visa Price and fee) is generally made up of three main components:

1. Embassy Fee (paid directly to the Embassy)
Most embassies charge 10,000–14,000 THB.(300-400 USD)
Fees vary because each embassy sets its own pricing and document requirements.
For Example: Thai Embassy in New Zealand charges about 2,000 NZD (≈ 37,000 THB or 1,100 USD) for the DTV visa fee. It is only in New Zealand that the DTV visa is this expensive — 99% of Thai embassies charge between 10,000–14,000 THB (300–400 USD).
Payment is made by credit card (Visa or MasterCard only) through the Thaievisa webiste.
2. Supporting Document Fee
2.1 Workcation / Freelance / Digital Nomad Option
This document is usually free, because you provide all required documents directly to the embassy.
For the Spousal or Dependent Children category, it is also free. You only need the DTV Visa details of your spouse.
2.2 Soft Power Category
If you apply through the Soft Power category, this is where you must pay for the Letter of Acceptance. Many cooking schools or Muay Thai schools require applicants to pay the course fee in advance before issuing this letter.
Course prices vary, but you can expect the cost to be around 30,000–100,000 THB.(900 – 2,800 USD)
The Thai Embassy prefers issuing the DTV Visa to applicants enrolled in long-term courses rather than short-term courses. (Why would you need a 5-year visa for a 3–4 month course? Some embassies may only issue a 6-month multiple-entry visa for short programs that last 3-6 months instead of 5 Years DTV Visa.
The Thai Embassy tends to look more favorably on applications that include a higher-priced course, as it suggests genuine intention to participate fully in the training.
If a school offers courses for only 10,000–15,000 THB (300 – 500 USD e.g., 20 Muay Thai sessions over 6 months), your application may be rejected because the price does not realistically justify a 5-year visa. Embassies can easily spot scams and will not issue visas based on suspicious or unrealistic Letters of Acceptance.
You might still get a DTV Visa with a short course (your friend may have received one last year with a short and cheap course), but this may change as the Thai Embassy tightens requirements over time. For our refund policy, if your application is rejected, we will refund your 100% payment within 2 working days after we know the result.
Cash payments: Refunds will be issued via bank transfer or in cash at the gym.
Credit card payments: Refunds will be credited back to your credit card (the bank typically processes refunds within 2–3 weeks).
PayPal payments: Refunds will be credited back to your card within 1 week.
